Do dog pellet feed production lines need to consider the needs and production capacity of dogs of different sizes?

 

 

The challenge of dog pellet feed production lines is that "they need to produce feed for different dog sizes (1-2mm for small dogs, 8-10mm for large dogs), requiring frequent mold changes, which affects production capacity." Each mold change requires a one-hour downtime, and three changes a day result in a loss of 3-4 tons of feed. In fact, by optimizing the mold change process and adapting the equipment, both "multiple specifications" and "high production capacity" can be achieved.

 

Rapid mold changeover: Reduced from "1 hour" to "20 minutes"

 

Mold Pre-installation: Prepare spare molds in advance.

For commonly used mold sizes (e.g., 2mm, 5mm, 8mm), pre-install heating and sealing rings and place them on the mold rack (labeled with specifications). When changing molds, there's no need for reassembly; simply disassemble the old mold and install the new one, reducing time from 60 minutes to 20 minutes.

 

 

 Use "Quick-Release Clips": No need for wrenches to tighten screws.

Replace the mold fixing screws with quick-release clips (like suitcase buckles), reducing disassembly time from 20 minutes to 5 minutes. The entire mold change process requires only two people, eliminating the need for tools. Changing molds three times a day can add 2 hours of production time and increase capacity by 1.5 tons.

 

 

Parameter Adaptation

 

 

No need to change equipment; simply adjust parameters to produce different specifications of feed:

Small dog feed (1-2mm): Slow speed + fine grinding
Raw material is ground to 100 mesh, extruder speed 250-300 rpm (slow speed ensures compact pellets), die aperture 1-2mm, hourly capacity 2 tons, pellet uniformity 98%.

 

 

Large dog feed (8-10mm): High speed + coarse grinding

Raw material is ground to 60 mesh, extruder speed 400-450 rpm (high speed increases capacity), die aperture 8-10mm, hourly capacity 3.5 tons, pellet hardness 3.5kg (suitable for large dogs to chew).
Parameters are preset in the control system (stored as "Program 1", "Program 2", etc., according to specifications). When changing specifications, parameters are adjusted with one click, eliminating the need for repeated testing. Parameter adjustment time is reduced from 30 minutes to 5 minutes.
