How To Find Traces Of Screw Wear in A Fish Food Pellet Making Machine By Examining The Production Details?

Three obvious signs that the screw of a mini fish feed machine needs replacing:

First, the feed gets stuck. The raw material piles up at the feed inlet instead of being sucked in as before; sometimes you even have to push it down by hand. This is because the spiral blades on the screw are worn down and can no longer push the material.

Second, the pellet temperature drops. Normal fish feed should exit the machine at a temperature above 85℃. If it suddenly drops below 75℃, the starch paste won't cook properly, and the pellets will crumble when squeezed. This is because the screw and the machine cavity have worn into a gap, resulting in insufficient frictional heat generation.

Third, the spiral blades are deformed. If stones or iron pieces are accidentally mixed in, the screw blades will be bent or curled. This can be seen when disassembling the machine cavity. In this case, it needs to be replaced immediately; it cannot be repaired.

You can use a "comparative method" to check. Use the spiral height of the screw from a new floating feed making machine as a reference. If the blades of the old screw are more than 1.5 mm shorter, or if the edges are chipped, don't use it. Here's another tip: if there are lumps of uncompressed raw material in the pellets, it's a sign that the screw is not pushing the feed effectively. One fish farmer noticed the slow feeding and replaced the screw that same day. This not only solved the problem of feed piling up, but also restored the hourly pellet output to its previous level, allowing him to feed the fish fry without any delays, which was very reassuring.
