What are the differences between different feeds used in a fish feed pellet production line?

In a general cost framework, equipment depreciation and quality inspection are fundamental. A general floating fish feed production line (500kg/hour capacity) requires an investment of approximately 1 million yuan and can produce various types of aquatic feed. Depreciation is calculated over 10 years, with a depreciation cost of approximately 200 yuan per ton. Quality inspection costs 30 yuan/ton, including moisture content testing, foam resistance testing, and nutritional component testing. This is an essential cost for aquatic feed production, ensuring feed stability in water and meeting nutritional standards. Labor and energy costs are general items in operating costs, with labor costs at 80 yuan/ton and energy costs at 100 yuan/ton, which can be optimized through automation and energy-saving equipment.

Raw material costs are the core of product category differentiation. High-end shrimp feed contains 40% fishmeal (12,000 yuan/ton), with a raw material cost of 6,000 yuan per ton; grass carp feed contains 10% fishmeal, mainly soybean meal and corn, with a raw material cost of 3,500 yuan per ton; shellfish feed mainly consists of algae and bran, with fishmeal accounting for only 5%, and a raw material cost of 2,200 yuan per ton. Optimization strategies need to be differentiated: Shrimp feed uses a mixture of fishmeal and fermented protein; grass carp feed adds distiller's grains (1200 yuan/ton) to replace part of the soybean meal; and shellfish feed utilizes local algae resources to reduce raw material costs. Regarding auxiliary materials, shrimp feed requires a high-cost binder, while grass carp and shellfish feeds can use inexpensive starch as a binder, saving 200-300 yuan per ton.

Differences in equipment and processes lead to different costs. Shrimp feed requires corrosion-resistant equipment and low-temperature drying, adding an extra 80 yuan per ton; grass carp feed can use a regular pellet mill without special treatment; shellfish feed particles are small (1-2mm), requiring a special small-aperture ring die, increasing equipment wear costs by 50 yuan per ton. In terms of process complexity, shrimp feed conditioning time is 3 minutes, while grass carp and shellfish feed are 1.5 minutes; the energy cost per ton of shrimp feed is 30 yuan higher than the other two types. By upgrading the production line with "general equipment + special modules", adding anti-corrosion modules and small ring mold modules to the general equipment, the repeated investment in equipment can be reduced, and the cost difference of equipment for different types of feed can be reduced to less than 30 yuan/ton, which greatly improves the flexibility and cost advantage of the production line.
