What is the effect of feed particle size on selective feeding of poultry?

With regard to pellet mills, large pellets are mainly corn and small pellets are mainly amino acids, phosphorus, vitamins and minerals. Excessive intake of large pellets by laying hens often results in excessive energy intake and inadequate intake of some nutrients (e.g. vitamins, amino acids). Most of the problems with egg production and eggshell quality are due to uneven nutritional intake.
Overfeeding or overfeeding is not conducive to the uptake of small pellets. If not managed properly small pellets can be deposited in the trough. Empty feed for 2~4 hours at noon is good for small pellet feed intake, so that the chickens can take the feed in the trough cleanly during this time. Feeders should observe the feeding situation in real time to determine the appropriate feeding frequency and feeding amount, so that the chicken feeding is reasonable.
