Is uneven granulation in a feed granulator machine caused by a damaged grinding disc?

First, let me teach you how to determine if the grinding disc needs replacing: If the feed pellet maker's feed is inconsistently coarse or fine, or if the pellet surface is pitted and uneven, and the teeth of the old grinding disc feel dull or even have noticeable chips, then it definitely needs replacing. Next, start replacing the disc. The preparation is the same as before: a new grinding disc, a wrench, a cloth, and gloves. Remember to disconnect the power first!

Some feed pellet making machines have a protective cover on the grinding disc. You need to remove the cover first. The cover is usually secured with Allen screws; find the corresponding Allen wrench and unscrew it. After removing the cover, you can see the grinding disc. There may be a small amount of feed residue at the connection point with the spindle; wipe it clean with a cloth before proceeding.

Loosen the fixing screws with the wrench. Be careful here; some screws may be rusty from long-term use. If you can't tighten them, don't use brute force. You can apply a few drops of lubricant and wait one minute before trying to tighten them again. After removing the old grinding disc, don't rush to install the new one. First, check the spindle for wear. If there are burrs on the spindle, gently sand them off with fine sandpaper, otherwise it will affect the lifespan of the new disc.

When installing the new disc, be sure to align it with the positioning marks. For example, some grinding discs have an "up" mark; install it facing upwards. Installing it backwards will result in poorer pellet output. After tightening the screws, don't immediately close the machine cover. Manually rotate the grinding disc first. If it rotates smoothly without any jamming, it's installed correctly. Then, close the protective cover and the machine cover, and power on the grain pellet machine to test it. This time, you can add a small amount of raw material to check if the pellet output is uniform. If there are no problems, you're all set.
