Ring die pellet mill maintenance is relatively complex and requires a higher frequency.
Routine maintenance includes: checking the lubricating oil level and quality daily; cleaning residual material from the die and pressure roller; checking the cooling system's operating status; applying grease to all lubrication points weekly; checking the tension of the drive belt weekly; checking the wear of the die and pressure roller monthly; and cleaning impurities from inside the gearbox. Disassembling the ring die and pressure roller requires specialized tools and skills, and replacing a set of wear parts typically takes 3-4 hours. In addition, the ring die pellet mill's cooling system, control system, and other auxiliary components also require regular maintenance, further increasing the maintenance workload.
The types of faults and the difficulty of handling them differ. Common faults in flat die pellet mills include material blockage, loose pellets, and excessive die wear. These faults are relatively easy to handle. For material blockage, stop the machine, remove the die, and clean the remaining material with a steel brush. Loose pellets are often caused by improper raw material moisture or die wear; adjusting the raw material moisture or replacing the die will solve the problem. Excessive die wear is often due to impurities in the raw material; strengthening raw material screening will resolve the issue. Common faults in ring die pellet mills include die blockage, motor overload, uneven pellet length, and cooling system malfunctions, which are more difficult to handle.
