Why is food pellet extruder key to ensuring the health and ornamental value of pet poultry?

Many people now keep pet poultry (such as hand-raised parrots and pet quails). Initially, they feed them rice, millet, and vegetables, but find that the poultry are either thin, lose feathers, are prone to illness, or even don't live long. Later, they switch to pet poultry feed made by an extruded feed pellet machine, and the poultry not only grow healthier but also become more interactive. This is because the extruded feed pellet machine solves the "nutrition and safety" pain points in pet poultry farming. Below, we'll discuss its importance.

Three aspects

First, fish food mill machines produce pet poultry feed that is "nutritionally precise and complete," ensuring the health of pet poultry. The nutritional needs of pet poultry differ from those of regular poultry (such as broiler chickens). For example, parrots require high fiber and high vitamins, while pet chickens require high protein and low fat. Feeding poultry with human food often results in either a lack of fiber (leading to feather loss in parrots) or a lack of protein (resulting in slow growth in pet chickens). Extruded feed pellet machines can customize formulas according to the specific breed of pet poultry: for example, parrot feed can include oatmeal and alfalfa meal (to supplement fiber), while pet chicken feed can include fishmeal and insect meal (to supplement protein). They can also add vitamins A and D (to protect eyes and bones), ensuring adequate nutrition. For instance, when using extruded feed, the feather loss rate of cockatiels decreased from 30% to below 5%, they did not suffer from eye inflammation due to vitamin A deficiency, and their interactivity was enhanced.

Second, automatic fish food making machines ensure that pet poultry feed is "safe, hygienic, and free of hidden dangers," preventing the spread of disease through food. Feeding poultry with human food poses safety risks: for example, rice can become moldy if left out for too long, and vegetables may contain pesticide residues, leading to poisoning in pet poultry. Ordinary bulk feed may contain Salmonella, causing diarrhea in pet poultry. Extruded feed pellets, produced by extrusion machines, undergo high-temperature extrusion at 110-120℃, killing mold and bacteria in the raw materials (such as Salmonella, with a kill rate of over 99%). Furthermore, the raw materials are food-grade, free of pesticide residues, making them safe for pet poultry. For instance, when using extruded feed for pet rutin chickens, the diarrhea rate dropped from 20% to below 3%, preventing "acute poisoning" from moldy rice, and increasing the survival rate from 80% to 98%.

Furthermore, pet feed pellets can enhance the "ornamental value" of pet poultry, satisfying the enjoyment of raising them. The ornamental value of pet poultry lies in their plumage and body shape; for example, ornamental pigeons need glossy feathers, and pet chickens need a well-proportioned body. During the production process, extruded feed pellet machines can add "feather-enhancing ingredients" (such as lecithin and astaxanthin) to make the feathers of pet poultry shinier and more vibrant in color. They can also control the energy content of the feed, preventing pet poultry from becoming overweight and maintaining a balanced physique. For example, when raising ornamental pigeons, using extruded feed results in feathers with 30% more luster than feeding them regular feed, making them more likely to win in competitions. For pet dwarf chickens, their weight can be controlled to around 1 pound, preventing them from becoming too fat and hindering their movement, thus enhancing their ornamental value. Furthermore, the pelleted feed produced by extruded feed pellet machines prevents waste and mess during feeding, simplifying household cleanup.
