Typical Issues in Maintaining Fish Feed Pellet Making Lines

Common maintenance problems in the lubrication system of a floating fish feed pellet production line mainly fall into four categories: oil passage blockage, lubricant deterioration, insufficient oil level, and improper lubrication methods. Oil passage blockage is often caused by impurities (such as metal shavings or dust) mixed in with the lubricant, or by oil sludge buildup due to prolonged lack of cleaning, resulting in insufficient lubrication points and increased component temperature. Lubricant deterioration is caused by prolonged use (failure to replace within its expiration date), excessively high ambient temperatures, or the introduction of moisture, leading to cloudy oil, decreased viscosity, and loss of lubrication and protective properties. Insufficient oil level is often caused by untimely refilling or oil leaks, resulting in direct friction in components such as gearboxes and motor bearings due to lack of lubrication.

To solve lubrication system problems in a fish food pellet production line, it is essential to accurately pinpoint the cause. When the oil circuit is blocked, the lubrication system must be shut down first. Disassemble the oil pipes and filters, flush the oil circuit with high-pressure oil, and replace the clogged filter element. If the inner wall of the oil pipe is heavily contaminated with oil, the oil pipe must be replaced. When the lubricating oil deteriorates, completely drain the old oil, clean the oil tank and oil circuit, and add new oil that meets the equipment requirements. For example, heavy-duty industrial gear oil should be used for gearboxes, and lithium-based grease should be used for motor bearings. If the oil level is insufficient, add lubricating oil to the mark, check the oil circuit joints and seals, and replace any leaking parts. If the lubrication method is improper, the lubrication requirements of each component must be re-examined, and the appropriate lubricating oil should be used according to the instruction manual. Mixing different types of lubricating oil is strictly prohibited.

Establishing a scientific lubrication maintenance system is key to preventing problems. Develop a detailed lubrication log, clearly specifying the lubricating oil type, refill cycle, and refill amount for each component. For example, change the lubricating oil in the gearbox every 500 hours of operation, and add grease to the motor bearings weekly. Check the oil level and pressure of the lubrication system daily, clean the filter weekly, and test the oil quality (viscosity, moisture content) monthly. Replace the oil immediately if deterioration is found. At the same time, the lubricating oil is filtered before refueling to prevent impurities from getting in, ensuring that the lubrication system is always in good operating condition and providing reliable protection for equipment components.
