What Are The Precautions For The Lubrication Process Of Pellet Maker For Animal Feed?

Preparation before lubrication is even more important than the lubrication itself. The first step must be to "stop and disconnect the power," ensuring the feed pellet maker machine is completely stopped. Never operate it while it's powered on; if the machine suddenly starts running, it can easily injure your hand. The second step is "thorough cleaning." Use a dry cloth to wipe away oil stains and dust from the oil inlet and bearing surfaces, especially the pressure roller bearings, which often accumulate raw material powder. If not cleaned properly, this dust will enter the bearings along with the new oil, acting as an "abrasive" and wearing down the parts. After wiping, rotate the pressure roller a few times to loosen the old grease and allow the new oil to penetrate. If changing the gearbox oil, first open the drain port at the bottom to completely drain the old oil. Then add a small amount of new oil to flush the inside of the gearbox, removing any remaining impurities, before tightening the drain port and adding more new oil.
Precise quantity control is crucial during the lubrication process; this is where errors are most likely to occur. When lubricating the roller bearings, the grease gun nozzle must be tightly fitted to the grease fitting, leaving no gaps, otherwise the grease will spray out and be wasted. The amount of grease injected should be such that a small amount overflows from both ends of the bearing. Too much grease will increase the bearing's rotational resistance, causing the animal feed pellet mill to overheat during operation, and in severe cases, it can damage the oil seal. Gearbox lubrication must be strictly in accordance with the oil level markings. If the oil level is too high, the gears will churn up a large amount of oil during rotation, increasing energy consumption and raising the oil temperature; if the oil level is too low, the gears will not be able to engage the lubricant, resulting in dry grinding. Both situations damage the machine.
After lubrication, do not rush to start operation. A "test run" is essential: After powering on, let the Livestock pellet machine idle for 3-5 minutes, carefully listening to whether the running sound is smooth and free of abnormal "clicking" or "rustling" noises. At the same time, gently touch the bearing area to feel if the temperature is normal. If the temperature rises rapidly or there is significant vibration, it indicates a lubrication problem, possibly due to too much grease or a blocked grease fitting. The machine must be stopped immediately for repair. Old Zhou, a cattle farmer in Inner Mongolia, learned this the hard way. He didn't control the amount of oil when he was adding oil to the roller bearing. He filled it too full, and the machine overheated and stopped after running for less than 10 minutes. He had to disassemble it and clean off the excess oil before it could return to normal. He wasted half a day of feed processing time.
