How to choose a poultry hay pellet making machine

Poultry farming is typically large-scale, with feed mainly consisting of low-cost raw materials such as corn, soybean meal, and wheat bran. Therefore, the selection of a poultry feed pellet mill should focus on "high output, low energy consumption, and easy maintenance," while also considering the feed requirements of poultry at different growth stages (finer for chicks, coarser for adults). This can be approached from three aspects:

First, determine the type and output of the poultry feed processing mill based on the scale of the farm. For small-scale poultry farms (less than 1000 birds), flat die pellet mills, such as the PM400 model, are suitable. They produce 100-200 kg per hour, have low equipment costs (approximately 10,000-20,000 RMB), are easy to operate, and are suitable for small-batch production. For medium-sized farms (1000-10000 birds), small ring die pellet mills, such as the HM800 model, are recommended. They produce 300-500 kg/h, consume 15% less energy than flat die mills, and are suitable for medium-batch production. For large-scale farms (more than 10,000 birds), large ring die pellet mills, such as the HM1200 model, are required. They produce 800-1200 kg/h and are equipped with automated feeding and discharging systems, enabling unattended production. Ring die pellet mills, with their ring die design, ensure more thorough extrusion of raw materials, achieving a pellet formation rate of over 95%, 10%-15% higher than flat die mills, reducing feed waste and making them more cost-effective in the long run.

Secondly, adjust equipment parameters according to the poultry's growth stage. Chicks (0-6 weeks old) have underdeveloped digestive systems, requiring feed finely ground to 60-80 mesh. Poultry feed maker machines need fine-aperture dies (1.5-2.0 mm) and lower extrusion pressure (2-3 MPa) to produce soft pellets. For pullets (7-20 weeks old), feed pellets can be slightly coarser, using dies with 2.5-3.0 mm apertures and increasing pressure to 3-4 MPa. For laying hens and broilers (over 20 weeks old), feed needs to balance nutrition and satiety; dies with 3.0-4.0 mm apertures and pressure of 4-5 MPa produce pellets with moderate hardness to prevent difficulty for laying hens to peck. Some ring die pellet mills support quick die changes and are equipped with different aperture die sets to meet the feed production needs of poultry throughout their entire growth cycle, eliminating the need for separate equipment purchases.

Finally, consider energy consumption and maintenance costs. Poultry feed production is high-volume, and energy consumption is a significant cost. It is recommended to choose a poultry feed manufacturing machine equipped with a variable frequency motor, which can automatically adjust the speed according to the feed volume, saving more than 20% energy compared to ordinary motors. The lifespan of vulnerable parts (such as the die head and pressure rollers) also needs careful consideration. The die head of a ring die pellet mill is made of alloy steel, with a lifespan of over 1000 hours, 50% longer than that of a flat die pellet mill. Furthermore, the pressure rollers feature a detachable design for easy replacement, reducing maintenance costs by 30%. In addition, the equipment must have good heat dissipation capabilities; during long-term continuous production, the motor temperature should not exceed 60℃ to avoid overheating-induced shutdowns and production delays.
