What causes the feed pellet mill to stop working?

Cause of the fault

1.Foreign objects mixed in raw materials: Stones or metal pieces (such as bolts or wires) from raw materials like corn and soybean meal can enter the pellet mill, jamming the pressure rollers and molds, causing a sudden increase in motor load.

2. Feeding speed too fast: If the feeder speed is set too high, a large amount of raw material will flood into the pellet mill, exceeding the motor's capacity and causing it to stall.

3. Poor motor heat dissipation: If the motor fan is blocked by dust, or if debris is piled up around the motor, obstructing heat dissipation, the motor temperature will exceed 60°C, triggering overload protection and shutting down.

4. Insufficient lubrication of transmission components: Insufficient lubrication of the pulleys and bearings between the motor and the pellet mill increases friction, leading to increased motor operating resistance.

Solution

  1. Remove foreign objects: First, disconnect the main power supply. Open the feed and discharge ports of the pellet mill. Use tools (such as tweezers or hooks) to remove any stuck stones or metal pieces. Then, check the raw material screening equipment (such as a vibrating screen). If the screen is damaged, replace it to prevent further contamination.
  2. Adjust the feeding speed: Reduce the feeder speed (e.g., from 30 rpm to 20 rpm). After starting the motor, observe the ammeter. If the reading is stable within 80% of the rated value, gradually increase the speed to find a suitable feeding rhythm.
  3. Improve motor heat dissipation: Use compressed air to blow away dust from the motor fan. Remove debris around the motor, ensuring at least 30cm of space is available for heat dissipation. If the ambient temperature is high, a small exhaust fan can be installed next to the motor.
  4. Replenish lubrication: Open the oil inlet of the transmission components and add special lubricating oil (such as #3 lithium-based grease). Add 5-10ml of oil to the bearings each time. Lubricate the pulley shaft every two weeks to reduce operating resistance.
