How To Mix Floating Feed in An Extruder Machine To Make The Feed More Resistant To Water Seepage?

 

 

First, determine the optimal moisture level for the fish and shrimp feed: it should be able to form a ball when squeezed tightly in your hand, but crumble easily when gently squeezed again, with no water droplets seeping out between your fingers. Don't add water at the beginning of mixing. First, mix the dry ingredients (corn flour, fish meal, shrimp shell powder) evenly, then add water in three batches, stirring thoroughly after each addition. For example, for 100 catties of dry feed, add 3 catties of water the first time, mixing until the surface is moist; add 2 catties the second time, mixing until it can be squeezed into a ball; and add 0.5-1 catties the third time, adjusting to the optimal moisture level as needed.

 

The water should ideally be warm water around 30℃, as it is more easily absorbed by the raw materials than cold water, resulting in better viscosity and stronger water resistance in the pellets, preventing them from crumbling even after soaking in water for 3 minutes. If you add wet ingredients such as fresh fish paste or seaweed paste, reduce the amount of water added. For example, if adding 10 catties of fish paste, add 5 catties less water to prevent the feed from becoming too wet and sticking to the pellet mill screw.

 

After mixing, do not put the feed into the pet food extrusion machine immediately. Let it stand for 5 minutes to allow the water to fully penetrate. This will make the pelleting process smoother, the pellet surface will be smoother, and the fish and shrimp will have a higher digestion and absorption rate.
