Are pet food pelleting machines suitable for home use?

Thorough preparation is essential before operation. First, check the equipment status: ensure the small fish food pellet making machine is placed stably and securely fixed to the ground (mini models can be secured with anti-slip mats, medium models require expansion bolts); check that the molds are installed correctly and that the bolt tightening torque meets the instructions (usually 50-80 N·m); before connecting the power, manually rotate the feed inlet impeller to ensure there is no jamming. Next, prepare the raw materials: mix all ingredients according to the formula ratio, and place them in a mixer to mix for 5-10 minutes until homogeneous. If the moisture content is insufficient, spray a small amount of water; if the moisture content is too high, allow it to dry for 10 minutes.

The core operating procedure consists of four steps, which must be performed sequentially. The first step is no-load testing: connect the power and start the machine to idle for 2-3 minutes, observing whether the motor rotation is correct (consistent with the instructions), whether there are any abnormal noises during operation, and whether the temperature regulation function is normal. If any problems occur, stop the machine immediately and check. The second step is feeding and processing: Slowly pour the mixed raw materials into the feed inlet, following the principle of "small amounts, multiple times." Each feeding should not exceed 1/3 of the feed inlet's volume to avoid raw material accumulation. Simultaneously, adjust the temperature according to the pellet formation. For dog food, maintain a temperature of 80-90℃; for cat food, maintain a temperature of 70-80℃ to ensure the pellets are firm and nutrients are not lost. The third step is pellet collection: Place a clean container at the outlet to collect the processed pellets. Remove any unformed raw materials, collect them separately, and reprocess them to improve raw material utilization. The fourth step is shutdown and cleaning: After processing, first turn off the heating system, and then turn off the power after the equipment has cooled to room temperature. Disassemble the barrel and mold, and use a special cleaning brush to remove any remaining raw materials. Use a fine needle to unclog each mold hole to prevent carbonization and blockage.

Safety considerations for home use are crucial. Electrical safety: Floating fish feed processing equipment must be grounded to prevent electric shock. Do not touch the feed inlet or outlet with your hands or metal tools during processing to prevent injury from entanglement. Children and pets must be kept away from the operating area; protective barriers should be installed if necessary. Hygiene and safety: Disinfect all parts of the equipment that come into contact with raw materials before and after each use. Wipe with diluted food-grade disinfectant, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and air dry. Processed pellets must be cooled to room temperature before sealing and storing to prevent condensation and mold growth. Equipment maintenance: Add food-grade lubricating oil to the motor bearings and gears weekly. Check mold wear monthly and replace the mold promptly when the pellet forming rate drops below 90%.
