How to ensure the stability and reliability of the differential when replacing a small poultry feed machine at low temperatures?

Preliminary Preparations

- Preheating of tools and accessories: Preheat socket wrenches, torque wrenches, and other tools in the workshop for 30 minutes to prevent metal from becoming brittle at low temperatures; place new differentials, sealants, and lubricating oil in an indoor environment above 20°C for 4 hours beforehand to prevent the lubricating oil from solidifying and the sealant from becoming less fluid.

- Equipment insulation: Build a temporary insulation shed around the pellet mill and use heaters to raise the temperature of the maintenance area to above 10°C to prevent parts from freezing during replacement; if an insulation shed cannot be built, wrap the differential mounting area with insulation cotton to reduce heat loss.

- Preparation of special tools: Prepare a heating rod (1000W, for heating lubricating oil), antifreeze cleaning agent, and low-temperature special sealant (temperature resistance range -40°C to 120°C) to ensure that the parts are suitable for low-temperature environments.

Replacement Steps

1. Draining and Preheating the Mounting Chamber: Unscrew the drain bolt to drain the lubricant. Due to the increased viscosity of the lubricant at low temperatures, the draining time will be prolonged. A heating rod inserted into the drain hole (ensuring proper insulation) can be used to accelerate the draining process. After draining, heat the mounting chamber with a heater for 15 minutes to raise the surface temperature to above 10°C, preventing the sealant from failing to adhere at low temperatures.

2. Disassembly and Cleaning: When disassembling bolts, if a bolt is frozen and cannot be tightened, apply a small amount of loosening agent to the bolt, let it stand for 5 minutes, and then try tightening. Do not use a hammer to forcefully strike the bolt. When cleaning the mounting chamber, use an antifreeze cleaner to prevent residual liquid from freezing. After cleaning, wipe dry with a clean cloth to keep the mounting surface dry.

3. Installation and Sealing of the New Differential for the Pellet Feed Machine: Apply a low-temperature special sealant to the preheated sealing surface of the new differential, with a thickness of 0.8mm. Install immediately after application to prevent the sealant from solidifying rapidly at low temperatures. 4. Installation: Act quickly during installation. Align the bolts with the positioning holes and pre-tighten them rapidly to prevent the differential from shifting due to freezing.

5. Bolt Tightening and Curing: Use a "step-by-step tightening + heat curing" method. First, pre-tighten the bolts to 100 N·m, then let them stand in an insulated chamber for 20 minutes to allow the sealant to initially cure. Then tighten the bolts to the torque specified by the equipment. After tightening, continue to let them stand in the insulated chamber for 30 minutes to ensure complete sealant adhesion.

6. Lubricating Oil Heating and Filling: Heat the lubricating oil to approximately 30°C using a heating rod (do not exceed 40°C). Slowly inject the lubricating oil into the differential, stirring constantly during the filling process to ensure even flow and avoid localized solidification. After filling, tighten the filler cap bolt and wrap the differential housing with insulation cotton for heat preservation.

7. Low-Temperature Testing: Before testing, run the pellet feed making machine idle for 10 minutes to gradually increase the differential temperature. Only proceed with the load test after the housing temperature reaches above 20°C. The load test time was extended to 1 hour. After shutdown, the differential was wrapped with insulation cotton to prevent the oil from solidifying due to rapid temperature drop.
