How to Set the Tension on a small pet food making machine?

content

Adjustment Point 1: Tool Preparation for Precise and Efficient Adjustment

Adjusting conveyor belt tension requires specialized tools to avoid adjustment errors or equipment damage due to improper tools. Tool selection must be based on the belt type and dog food processing machine model. Core tools include: a suitable wrench (Hex wrench, open-end wrench), a tension gauge (for accurate tension measurement), a measuring tape (for measuring belt tightness), and non-slip gloves (for operational safety). Auxiliary tools include: a brush (for cleaning material residue from the belt surface) and high-temperature grease (for lubricating the adjustment mechanism). In practice, tension can be judged by experience for small automatic dog food machines, while a tension gauge is recommended for larger equipment to ensure precise tension adjustment that meets industry standards and avoids equipment damage caused by blind adjustment.

Adjustment Point 2: Precise Tension Adjustment Based on Belt Type

Different types of conveyor belts require slightly different tension adjustment methods, necessitating specific procedures. The feeding and discharging rhythms of the dog food pellet mill and pellet mill must also be considered.

First, adjust the tension of the flat belt: Turn off the power to the conveyor equipment, locate the adjusting bolts at both ends of the belt, and clean any material residue and dust from the belt surface and adjusting mechanism. If the tension is too loose, tighten the adjusting bolts at both ends clockwise simultaneously, and slowly pull the belt to ensure even tension at both ends. Press the belt down by hand; it should sink 5-8mm. If the tension is too tight, loosen the bolts at both ends counterclockwise simultaneously to fine-tune the belt tension, avoiding uneven tension that could cause belt misalignment.

Second, adjust the tension of the synchronous belt: The synchronous belt and gears must mesh precisely. During adjustment, avoid meshing deviation. After turning off the power, locate the tension pulley of the synchronous belt and use an Allen wrench to fine-tune its position. If the tension is too loose, push the tension pulley to tighten the belt; if the tension is too tight, pull the tension pulley to loosen it. After adjustment, rotate the gears to confirm smooth meshing without jamming or abnormal noise, ensuring it matches the speed of the dog food pellet maker machine.

Adjustment Point 3: Post-Adjustment Maintenance to Extend Belt Life

After adjusting the belt tension, proper follow-up maintenance can reduce the probability of tension imbalance, extend the belt's life, and ensure the coordinated operation of the conveyor equipment and the dog food pellet machine.

First, cleaning maintenance: Use a brush to clean material residue and dust from the belt surface to prevent slippage and wear caused by residual material.

Second, lubrication maintenance: Apply a small amount of high-temperature grease to adjusting bolts, tension pulleys, and other parts to reduce friction and prevent jamming of the adjustment mechanism.

Third, regular inspection: Check the belt tension weekly before starting the machine, testing the tightness by hand and making minor adjustments as needed. Check the belt wear monthly; replace it promptly if there is damage or aging to prevent belt breakage and production interruption.

Simultaneously, ensure the conveyor belt is aligned with the feed and discharge ports of the dog food pellet extruder machine to prevent material misalignment and accelerated belt wear.
