The ring die is one of the main components of the pellet feed machine. Its material is mostly high-chromium alloy steel with a hardness of HRC45 and a tensile strength of ≥980MPA. The surface hardness of the ring die can reach 60 after heat treatment. The ring die is mostly a cylindrical porous part, and the shape of its hole is mostly a straight hole. In actual production and processing, wedge-shaped holes with a die hole of 5°~10° are often used, which is easier to demold than circular holes and more convenient for cutting with a rotating hob.
The ring die and the pressing roller in the pellet feed machine are key components of the entire set of equipment. How to select the size of the ring die and the pressing roller becomes the key factor in the success of pelleting. Therefore, choosing the best die roller diameter ratio λ=rR is the key issue in designing a pellet feed machine. Solving this problem will not only help to further understand some basic laws in the pelleting process, but also provide a theoretical basis for the design and parameter optimization of pellet feed machines in the future.
