What are the key considerations for ingredient selection in floating fish food pellet makers?

Fish at different growth stages have varying digestive abilities, growth rates, and physiological needs. Therefore, the selection of raw materials for floating fish food pellet machines must follow the principle of "high protein for juveniles, stable nutrition for adult fish, and energy supplementation for broodstock."
I. Suitable Raw Materials for the Fry Stage
Fry (under 3 cm in length) have underdeveloped digestive systems, requiring high-protein, easily digestible raw materials with fine, soft pellets. Core protein ingredients should include defatted fishmeal (40%-50%) and whey powder (10%-15%), as the small-molecule proteins in whey powder are directly absorbed. Energy ingredients should include rice flour (20%-25%) and corn starch (10%-15%), avoiding coarse fiber. Adding 5%-8% egg yolk powder enhances immunity, while adding 0.1%-0.2% multivitamins meets the needs of rapid growth. Raw materials must be ground to at least 100 mesh to ensure a fine, particle-free feed.
II. Suitable Raw Materials for Adult Fish
Adult fish (over 3 cm in length until market entry) grow rapidly, requiring a balance between protein and energy while considering cost. Protein sources should primarily consist of soybean meal (25%-35%) and cottonseed meal (10%-15%), supplemented with 10%-15% domestic fishmeal to reduce costs. Energy sources should include corn (20%-30%) and wheat bran (10%-15%). Wheat bran increases feed looseness and improves feed intake. The crude fiber ratio should be adjusted according to the fish species: 10%-20% alfalfa meal should be added for herbivorous adult fish, while for carnivorous adult fish, it should be controlled below 5%. Supplement with 2%-3% dicalcium phosphate and 1%-2% salt to maintain nutritional balance.
III. Suitable Raw Materials for Broodstock
Broodstock (breeding stock) require enhanced nutrition to improve reproductive capacity and egg quality. The protein ingredients are selected from high-quality imported fish meal (30%-40%) and soybean protein peptides (10%-15%). Protein peptides are easily absorbed and can enhance immunity. The energy ingredients are selected from corn germ powder (20%-25%) and fish oil (5%-8%). The unsaturated fatty acids in fish oil can promote gonadal development. 5%-10% spirulina powder is added to supplement natural pigments and trace elements. 1%-2% yeast powder is added to provide B vitamins and improve the appetite of parent fish.
