Why do sheep farmers use pellet feed machines?

Many new additives, new formulas, and different varieties, different growth characteristics, and different nutritional supplements developed by modern science are difficult to use with advanced technology and other feeding methods and grazing forms. Only by feeding sheep with this method can they be used at will.

Pellet feed is a combination of concentrate and roughage to make food for sheep. Therefore, various plant roots, stems, shells, skins, etc. with poor palatability are mixed with concentrates with good palatability. Its palatability is also improved, and sheep can swallow them together and cannot pick out the poor palatability. This increases the available forage resources and greatly increases the types of forage that can be fed to sheep. For example, the rough and hard stems that cannot be used for a long time can be made into pellets to feed sheep.

To make pellet feed, three feed processing machines need to be purchased, namely, a grass chopper, a thresher, and a pellet machine. If conditions permit, a mixer can also be configured. First, various forages are chopped short with a grass chopper, and then the chopped forage is pulverized with a pulverizer. The concentrated feed is also crushed here, and then the various raw materials are mixed evenly, either manually or with a mixer, and a small amount of water is sprayed, and then added to the pellet machine to make pellets. The pellets are mostly cylindrical, with a diameter of 2~3mm and a length of 8~10mm for lambs, and a diameter of 3-4mm and a length of 10~12mm for adult sheep.
