Corrosion-resistant Installation Specifications For Floating Fish Feed Pellet Making Machines in Fish And Shrimp Farming

Site protection is the first line of defense against corrosion. The floating fish pellet maker machine should be installed in a closed workshop to avoid direct exposure to wind and rain. The workshop floor should be paved with non-slip, waterproof tiles, with a 2% drainage slope, and equipped with drainage ditches and collection wells to promptly remove wastewater from washing the equipment. A dehumidifier should be installed inside the workshop to control the relative humidity below 60%, reducing the corrosive effects of salt and moisture in the air on the equipment. If temporary outdoor installation is necessary, a rain and sun shelter must be erected, with a height of at least 3 meters, ensuring good ventilation, and waterproof membrane and anti-corrosion mats should be laid on the ground to isolate it from ground moisture.

Corrosion protection of equipment components is crucial. Before installation, the metal components of the fish food pelletizer main unit, motor, and reducer should be treated with anti-corrosion coatings. Non-stainless steel components should be coated with two coats of epoxy zinc-rich primer and one coat of polyurethane topcoat, with a coating thickness of at least 80μm. A dedicated model with a waterproof rating of IP67 or higher should be selected, and the junction box should be a sealed design. Waterproof sealant should be applied to cable interfaces to prevent salt spray from seeping in. Transmission components such as chains and gears should be coated with salt spray-resistant lithium-based grease before installation and replenished/replaced periodically. 316 stainless steel is preferred for the ring die and pressure rollers to enhance corrosion resistance; if ordinary steel is used, nitriding treatment is required to achieve a surface hardness ≥ HRC65.

Installation processes and protective measures must be closely coordinated. Anti-corrosion gaskets made of acid and alkali-resistant rubber should be installed between the equipment base and the foundation to prevent electrochemical corrosion caused by direct contact between the metal base and concrete. The feeding and discharging systems use 304 stainless steel pipes with flange connections and fluororubber gaskets to prevent leakage of salt and moisture from the feed, which could corrode the equipment. After installation, a protective barrier should be installed around the equipment to prevent aquaculture water from splashing onto it. A high-pressure washer should be used to rinse the surface of the floating fish food pellet maker after each use to remove residual feed and salt, followed by drying the surface with compressed air. During commissioning, it is essential to focus on checking the sealing performance of the sealing components to ensure no steam or moisture leakage. When running under no-load conditions, observe the temperature and noise of components such as the motor and reducer. When running under load, monitor the moisture content of the feed and the pellet formation to ensure that all equipment indicators meet the requirements.
