How To Adjust The Twin-screw Fish Feed Machine For Efficient Small-batch Production?

Production planning optimization is key to reducing changeover costs. Implementing an "order clustering production" model groups small batches of orders with the same or similar formulas together for production within the same timeframe, reducing the frequency of formula changes. For example, all floating feed orders are scheduled for production Monday through Wednesday, and sinking feed orders for Thursday and Friday, reducing formula changes from 10 times per week to 2 times, saving over 10,000 yuan in changeover costs per month. A "minimum economic batch" accounting mechanism is established; for extremely small orders below 500kg, pricing is appropriately increased or production is combined with other orders to ensure profitability even for small batches. Simultaneously, production plans are developed 7 days in advance, notifying raw material procurement and pre-treatment departments to prepare and avoid production interruptions due to insufficient raw materials.

 

Equipment modifications can improve the efficiency of small-batch production. Adding a "rapid cleaning device" between the feed inlet and the barrel, including a detachable hopper and a high-pressure air purging system, allows for formula changes by simply disassembling the hopper for cleaning and then using high-pressure air to purge the inside of the barrel, reducing cleaning time from 1 hour to 15 minutes. Replacing the molds with modular designs and employing a quick-release structure reduces mold changeover time from 40 minutes to 10 minutes. Molds with different apertures can be pre-installed on the mold base for rapid switching. For large equipment with an hourly capacity of 3 tons or more, a capacity adjustment module can be added. By adjusting the screw length or the number of barrel sections, the minimum capacity can be reduced from 1 ton/hour to 0.3 tons/hour, adapting to small-batch production needs.

 

Process adjustments reduce waste of transitional materials. Using a "gradient transition" feeding method, when switching formulas, the raw materials of the two formulas are gradually mixed and fed in ratios of 1:9, 2:8...9:1, ensuring a smooth transition of equipment parameters. The transitional material output is reduced from 300 kg to 50 kg. This transitional material can be reprocessed as raw material for ordinary feed, achieving zero waste. Simultaneously, energy consumption during the equipment preheating stage is reduced by employing "local preheating" technology, preheating only the plasticizing and molding sections, shortening the preheating time from 30 minutes to 10 minutes, reducing ineffective energy consumption in small-batch production.
