Proper Lubrication Guide For Pellet Machines For Chicken Food
Leave a message
Lubrication of animal feed pellet making machines doesn't need to be exhaustive; focusing on three key components is sufficient. These are the "joints" of the machine's operation and the most prone to problems due to insufficient lubrication.
First is the pressure roller bearing. Like the "main wheel" of the pellet mill, it provides the force for raw material extrusion and is subject to highly concentrated stress. If it lacks lubrication, it won't rotate, and the raw material will immediately clog the inlet, causing jamming.
Second is the main shaft gearbox. The gears inside mesh at high speed, rotating dozens of times per second. Insufficient lubrication will cause the gears to grind against each other, quickly developing deep grooves and increasing machine noise.
Third is the feed screw bearing. It's responsible for feeding the raw material into the machine. Insufficient lubrication will cause inconsistent rotation speeds, uneven feed, either idling or piling up material, directly halving pelleting efficiency.
There are strict rules for lubricating these three components; haphazard operation is not advisable. For the pressure roller bearings, use a grease gun to apply lithium-based grease. When applying grease, align the gun tip with the grease fitting and insert it tightly. Slowly press the handle until a little new grease appears in the gaps at both ends of the bearing. Don't add too much grease, as this will "block" the bearing, increasing resistance and causing it to overheat. The main shaft gearbox requires regular oil level checks. Open the side oil level indicator cap; if the oil level is below 1/3 of the mark, add industrial gear oil. Add oil until the middle mark is reached. Before adding oil, be sure to wipe the grease fitting clean with a cloth to prevent dust from mixing into the oil and causing problems. For the chicken pellet machine's feeding screw bearings, apply a small amount of solid grease by hand each week to ensure smooth, even feeding of raw materials without any sticking.
