Core Molding Component 2: Die Head, the "Key Molding Part" for Pellet Shaping

The die head is the core component for dog food pellet shaping and is crucial for adapting to the output characteristics of the dog food extruder machine. It mainly consists of three parts: the die head body, the die holes, and the fixing flange. It is installed at the discharge end of the pellet mill, precisely aligned with the extruder's discharge channel. Its core function is to shape the material squeezed by the pressure rollers into pellets of a fixed size (typically 0.5-5mm) through the shape and diameter of the die holes. The distribution density and diameter of the die holes must be precisely matched to the extruder's output and the material's degree of maturation-if the dog food pellet mill has a large output, a die head with a densely distributed die hole should be selected; if the material has a high degree of maturation and strong adhesion, a die head with a slightly larger diameter should be selected to avoid material clogging the die holes. In practice, the die head needs to be cleaned and polished regularly to prevent dried material residue from clogging the die holes, and to prevent die hole wear from causing excessive pellet size deviation.

 

Forming Auxiliary Components: Cutter Assembly, the "Precision Trimming Component" for Pellet Cutting

The cutter assembly is the core auxiliary component for pellet forming, mainly composed of three parts: the cutter blade, the cutter shaft, and the adjustment knob. It is installed on the outside of the die head, closely fitting the die head's discharge port. Its operating rhythm must be coordinated with the Automatic Dog Food's discharge speed and pressure roller speed. Its core function is to cut the continuous strip of material extruded from the die head into pellets of uniform length (typically 2-8mm). The cutter speed can be finely adjusted via the adjustment knob to adapt to fluctuations in the extruder's discharge speed, ensuring a pellet length deviation of ≤±0.2mm. The cutter blade is made of high-speed steel, sharp and wear-resistant, and does not easily wear down after long-term cutting of puffed cooked materials (including grains, fresh meat mince, etc.). If the cutter blade wears down or is misaligned, it can lead to problems such as uneven pellet length and broken strips, and may also affect the smoothness of the extruder's discharge. Therefore, it requires regular inspection, grinding, or replacement.
