Physical properties mainly include the particle size, shape, bulk density, surface roughness, flow characteristics, adhesion, moisture content, fat content, pH value, etc. Particles of materials with high moisture content are easy to agglomerate or clump, difficult to disperse evenly, and the mixing effect is difficult to be satisfactory, so it is generally required to control the moisture content of the mixed material to not exceed 12%.

If the raw material powder used to make rabbit pellet feed is too large, it will affect the digestion and absorption of rabbits, and if it is too small, it will easily cause enteritis. Generally, the diameter of the powder particles is 1 to 2 mm. The particle size of the additive is preferably 0.6 to 0.8 mm, which is conducive to uniform mixing and digestion and absorption.

The mixer mainly relies on convection mixing, diffusion mixing and shear mixing to make the material move in the machine to achieve the purpose of mixing the material evenly. Regardless of the type of mixer, the appropriate loading amount is an important prerequisite for the normal operation of the mixer and the expected effect.

If too much material is loaded, the mixer will be overloaded. More importantly, too much loading will affect the circulation process of the material in the machine, thereby causing a decrease in the mixing quality. If too little material is loaded, the efficiency of the mixer cannot be fully utilized, energy is wasted, and it is not conducive to the flow of materials in the mixer, thus affecting the mixing quality.
