Typical Issues with a Twin Screw Pet Food Extruder Machine

content

Material Blockage: Raw Material and Operational Adjustments

Blockages often occur in the feeding section or die head of the Twin Screw Pet Food Processing Machine. The core causes are excessively high raw material moisture content (>18%), excessively coarse particle size, or excessively fast feeding speed. Emergency Handling: Immediately stop the machine and cool it down. Disassemble the extruder, clean any residual material with specialized tools, and check the die head orifice for blockage. Preventive Measures: Control raw material moisture content to 12%-18%, particle size ≥80 mesh, feed at a uniform rate, and preheat the extruder to the set temperature before starting to avoid material sticking due to low-temperature feeding.

Abnormal Pellet Extrusion: Precise Parameter Adjustment

If the pellets are too soft and lack buoyancy (dry pet food), it's often due to the Twin Screw Pet Food Making Machine having too low a temperature (<140℃) or insufficient pressure (<4MPa). Increase the temperature by 5-10℃, increase the pressure by 0.5-1MPa, and appropriately reduce the feed rate. If the pellets are too hard or burnt, it's due to too high a temperature (>160℃) or too slow a rotation speed. Decrease the temperature by 10-15℃, increase the rotation speed by 20-30 r/min, and accelerate the feed rate. Uneven pellet size requires calibrating the cutter speed to ensure it matches the twin screw's output speed.

Abnormal Equipment Noise/Overload: Component Inspection and Maintenance

If metallic friction sounds or increased vibration occur during operation, it's often due to twin screw wear, bearing aging, or hard impurities in the raw material. Remedies: Immediately stop the machine, disassemble the Twin Screw Pet Pellet Making Machine to check the screw wear, repair or replace damaged parts; replace aged bearings and add special lubricating oil; remove hard impurities from the raw material, re-screen, and restart the equipment. The screw clearance needs to be calibrated regularly to prevent wear and malfunctions and ensure the stable operation of the extruder.
