What are the risks of overheating in a small fish feed maker machine?

High-temperature hazards primarily originate from hot-temperature components of equipment and hot-temperature materials. In fish feed pellet processing, the ring die and barrel of the pellet mill can reach temperatures of 85-105℃ during operation due to the friction caused by the extrusion of raw materials, and even higher in some high-end models. These components are mostly made of metal, which dissipates heat slowly, and operators are highly susceptible to burns if they accidentally touch them. Furthermore, the exhaust pipe of a diesel pellet mill engine can reach temperatures exceeding 300℃. If flammable materials (such as feed packaging bags or cotton yarn) are piled nearby, a fire can easily occur. Regarding materials, freshly pelleted feed pellets typically have a temperature of 60-80℃. Direct contact with these pellets or placing them into sealed bags before they have cooled can easily cause burns and may lead to mold growth due to heat accumulation, or even spontaneous combustion under certain conditions. Some feed ingredients (such as fishmeal with high oil content) are prone to oxidation at high temperatures, producing volatile flammable gases, increasing the risk of fire.

Preventing high-temperature hazards requires a three-pronged approach: equipment protection, proper operating procedures, and environmental management. Regarding equipment protection, heat-insulating protective covers are installed on the outside of high-temperature components such as the ring die and barrel, using high-temperature resistant heat-insulating materials, with surface temperatures controlled below 40℃. The exhaust pipe of the diesel-powered floating fish feed pellet making machine must be equipped with a fireproof cap and heat-insulating sleeve to prevent spark leakage. Regarding operational procedures, operators must use dedicated high-temperature resistant tools (such as stainless steel shovels and heat-resistant gloves) when handling high-temperature feed, and direct hand contact is strictly prohibited. High-temperature pellets must be cooled to room temperature by a cooler before packaging and storage, ensuring good ventilation during the cooling process. Regarding environmental management, flammable materials are prohibited from being piled within 1.5 meters of the equipment. A dedicated high-temperature material storage area is provided, with fire-resistant and non-slip floor tiles. Residual feed on and around the equipment is regularly cleaned to prevent high-temperature components from igniting feed dust. Warning signs such as "High Temperature Danger" and "Caution: Burns" are posted in high-temperature work areas to remind operators to pay attention to safety. By implementing these measures, a feed mill has completely eliminated high-temperature-related safety accidents and improved the stability of feed storage.
