What safety steps are required for an extruder for fish food pet food processing machine?

Pre-shift maintenance of wet pet food machinery requires three checks to lay a solid foundation for equipment operation. First, check the lubricating oil level. Lubricating oil in rotating parts such as the gearbox and motor bearings should be filled to between the marked lines. The oil should be clear and free of impurities. If the oil level is too low or the oil is cloudy, replenish or replace it with the appropriate type of lubricating oil. Mixing different types of lubricating oil is strictly prohibited. Second, check the clearances of key components. Use a feeler gauge to check the clearance between the screw and the barrel (normally 0.1-0.3mm) and the clearance between the pressure roller and the die. If the clearance exceeds the tolerance, adjust or replace the component promptly to avoid affecting product forming and accelerating wear.

Third, check the seals and connections. Check that the gaskets at the inlet and outlet are intact to prevent leakage, and that all bolts and nuts are tightened to prevent loosening and abnormal noises during equipment operation. In-shift inspections of extruders for fish and pet food processing machines require constant monitoring to promptly identify potential problems. A routine inspection should be conducted every 2 hours, focusing on the equipment's operating sound (stable and without abnormal noise), motor temperature (≤60℃), and barrel vibration. If the motor overheats, check the cooling fan for proper function and whether it is overloaded. If abnormal vibration occurs, check for loose bolts and worn parts. Record equipment operating data, including temperature, speed, and pressure, and analyze data changes to determine the equipment's operating status. For example, a sudden increase in discharge pressure may indicate mold blockage, requiring immediate attention.

Post-shift maintenance must be thorough and meticulous, adhering to the "three cleans and one protection" principle. The "three cleans" are: clean the equipment interior, clean the equipment surface, and clean the working environment; disassemble the screw and barrel, and use specialized tools to clean residual material, especially cleaning blockages in the mold holes to prevent material carbonization and adhesion; use high-pressure air to blow away dust from the equipment surface and wipe it clean with a damp cloth; clean up any scattered material and debris around the equipment, maintaining a clean environment. "One protection" refers to component protection. After cleaning, screws and molds should be coated with food-grade anti-rust oil to prevent corrosion. If the equipment is idle for more than 3 days, the main power supply should be turned off, a dust cover should be placed over it, and protective measures should be taken. In addition, an equipment maintenance log should be established to record the maintenance content, time, and responsible person in detail. The maintenance data should be analyzed regularly to predict the risk of equipment failure in advance.
