How Should A Small Floating Fish Feed Extruder Machine Be Properly Matched With Its Supporting Equipment?

Accurately calculating the capacity of core equipment is fundamental to matching the supply chain. The capacity of a fish feed making machine is affected by the characteristics of raw materials and pellet size, and must be based on the effective capacity under actual production conditions, not the theoretical capacity. For example, a pellet mill with a capacity of 500 kg/h might have an effective capacity of 450 kg/h when processing 3mm shrimp feed, but this increases to 480 kg/h when processing 5mm grass carp feed. When matching with supporting equipment, the minimum effective capacity should be used as a reference to avoid the "weakest link effect." The calculation formula is: minimum capacity of supporting equipment ≥ minimum effective capacity of pellet mill × 1.1, with a 10% buffer to cope with raw material fluctuations.
The method for matching the capacity of key supporting equipment is clearly defined. As a core front-end device, the crusher's capacity must be precisely matched to the fish feed pellet machine. If the pellet machine's effective capacity is 450 kg/h, the crusher should be a model with an hourly capacity of 500 kg/h to ensure sufficient raw material supply. The mixer must meet the requirement of "batch capacity matching the continuous feeding of the pellet machine." The mixer's batch capacity should be determined based on the pellet machine's hourly feed rate. For example, a 450 kg/h pellet machine should be paired with a mixer with a 500 kg/h batch capacity, with the mixing cycle controlled within 15 minutes to ensure a supply of 4 batches of raw material per hour. The cooler and packaging machine, as back-end devices, need slightly higher capacity than the pellet machine. A 500 kg/h cooler should be selected to prevent the extruded feed from piling up and spoiling, and a 600 kg/h packaging machine should be chosen to accommodate subsequent packaging speed fluctuations.
For multi-machine combinations, a capacity balancing system needs to be established. If two floating fish feed machines with a capacity of 450 kg/h are used in parallel production, the supporting equipment needs to be matched to a total capacity of 900 kg/h. This includes two 500 kg/h crushers or one 1000 kg/h crusher, four 500 kg/batch capacity mixers, and 1000 kg/h coolers and packaging machines. Simultaneously, a central control system adjusts the feeding speed of each piece of equipment in a coordinated manner. When a pellet mill stops, the capacity of the front-end crusher and mixer is automatically reduced to avoid raw material accumulation. One feed mill increased its overall equipment capacity utilization rate from 65% to 92% using this method.
