Front-end equipment needs enhanced raw material pretreatment capabilities. Fish extruded feed has extremely high requirements for raw material particle size, moisture content, and mixing uniformity; therefore, the supporting equipment must precisely match these pretreatment needs. The pulverizer should be an ultrafine pulverizer with a grading screen, complementing the extrusion process of the pellet mill, pulverizing high-protein raw materials such as fishmeal and shrimp meal to at least 80 mesh to ensure uniform nutrition after extrusion. The conditioner must have steam regulation capabilities, linked to the extrusion temperature control of the pellet mill, stabilizing the raw material moisture content at 15%-17% and raising the temperature to 70-80℃, providing a good foundation for subsequent extrusion and avoiding frequent parameter adjustments to fish feed manufacturing machinery due to fluctuations in raw material conditions.
Back-end equipment must address the core characteristics of extrusion pelleting. The extruded feed pellets are hot and have high moisture content, requiring supporting equipment for cooling, drying, and screening. A counter-flow cooler should be selected, as its cooling efficiency is 30% higher than that of a co-flow cooler. It can rapidly cool hot pellets at 85℃ to room temperature while reducing moisture content to below 12%, matching the pellet characteristics produced by the pellet mill. A double-layer grading screen should be used; the upper layer removes oversized particles, and the lower layer removes powder, ensuring uniformity of the finished pellets and forming a closed loop with the precise pelleting function of the floating fish feed pellet machine. For high-end fish feed, an oil spraying system is also required to precisely spray fish oil onto the cooled pellets, supplementing nutrition without affecting the pellet mill's extrusion effect.
Process integration requires attention to equipment coordination and timing. A buffer silo with a capacity of 30 minutes' worth of feed for the granulator is required between the mixer and the pellet mill to avoid conflicts between the batch production of the mixer and the continuous feeding rhythm of the pellet mill. The conveying equipment between the pellet mill and the cooler should be a scraper conveyor with anti-breakage features to reduce the breakage rate of the extruded pellets during the conveying process, with the breakage rate controlled below 3%. The entire process is linked by a PLC system. After the mixer completes a batch of raw materials, it automatically notifies the pellet mill to adjust the feeding speed. The cooler automatically adjusts the air volume according to the output of the pellet mill to achieve seamless process connection.
