How To Fix Overheating Problems in The Chicken Pellet Feed Production Line?

The core causes of motor overheating in nutritional pellet feed production lines include overload, circuit faults, and heat dissipation failure. Overloading is the most common problem. Feeding too much corn, soybean meal, or other raw materials into the grinder at once can clog the grinding chamber, causing the motor to stall and generate a huge load, with the current soaring to more than 1.5 times the rated value. To resolve this, immediately close the feed inlet, stop the machine, clean out any remaining raw materials from the grinding chamber, and restart using a "small, frequent feeding" method. Simultaneously, install a flow controller at the feed inlet to stabilize the feed rate within the equipment's rated range (e.g., 250-300 kg/hour for a 300 kg/hour grinder). For circuit faults, check if the motor terminals are loose. If oxidation or rust is present, sand it down, apply conductive paste, and tighten the bolts. Undersized cables can also cause overheating; replace them with cables of the appropriate specifications (e.g., 4mm² copper core wire for a 7.5kW motor). For heat dissipation failure, clean the dust from the motor's cooling fan and heat sink, ensure the fan is operating normally, and install additional cooling fans if necessary.

Overheating of the crusher casing is mainly caused by hammer wear, screen clogging, and material friction. Hammers are the core working component of the crusher. When the hammer edges become dull and worn, they cannot effectively crush raw materials, causing the material to repeatedly impact and rub against each other within the crushing chamber, generating a large amount of heat. To solve this, regularly check the wear of the hammers. When the wear exceeds 2mm, flip them over or replace them with new ones. Simultaneously, ensure the gap between the hammers and the screen is maintained at 5-10mm to avoid excessive friction due to a too-small gap. Screen clogging is also a significant cause, especially when processing damp raw materials. Fine powder easily adheres to the screen holes, obstructing material discharge and causing heat accumulation. After stopping the machine, remove the screen and wash it with a high-pressure water gun or clean the screen holes with a steel brush. For severely clogged screens, soak them in a 5% soda ash solution for 30 minutes before cleaning.

To prevent crusher overheating, daily maintenance is also necessary: check the wear condition of the hammers and screen daily, clean the motor cooling system weekly, and add lithium-based grease to the motor bearings monthly. In addition, select the appropriate crushing method according to the characteristics of the raw materials. For example, when processing high-moisture silage, use a hammer mill and a large-aperture screen (10mm) to reduce the risk of clogging.
