How To Make An Extruded Feed Pellet Mill For Aquaculture Durable?

Usage and Procedures
Fish floating feed machines are typically medium-sized (300-500 catties/hour), primarily designed for shrimp, crab, and other specialty aquatic products requiring sinking/floating feed. The process involves four steps:
Step 1: Pre-start Inspection. First, check for any residual feed in the hopper. Manually rotate the screw; it should feel smooth and without jamming. Next, check the mold aperture (2mm for shrimp, 4mm for crab), ensuring the mold is securely installed and there are no leaks. Finally, connect the power supply, turn on the main switch, and let the fish food pellet making machine idle for 30 seconds. Listen for even sound; if there are no abnormal noises, it's fine.
Step 2: Raw Material Pre-treatment and Feeding. Mix fish meal, soybean meal, shell powder, and other raw materials according to the formula. Add warm water to adjust the moisture content to 25%-30% (a handful should not drip when squeezed). Sift to remove stones and coarse stems. Slowly pour the prepared feed into the hopper. Feed slowly at first, and once the machine's output stabilizes, increase the feed rate evenly to avoid clogging the machine with too much feed at once.Raw Material Pre-treatment and Feeding.
Step 3: Adjusting Fish Food Pellet Machine Parameters and Peluting. For floating aquatic feed (such as sea bass feed), set the puffing temperature to 140℃ and the pressure to 7MPa; for sinking feed (such as shrimp feed), set the temperature to 130℃ and the pressure to 5MPa. After the pellets are produced, observe their formation: floating feed should float on the surface for more than 4 hours, and sinking feed should sink within 10 seconds. If the pellets are loose, add a small amount of water; if they are too hard, lower the temperature.
Step 4: Shutdown Operation. When the raw materials are almost used up, reduce the feed rate 5 minutes in advance. After the hopper is empty, let the machine idle for 1 minute to drain any remaining raw materials. First, turn off the heating switch, and wait for the barrel temperature to drop below 50℃ before turning off the main power supply to avoid sudden temperature changes that could cause component deformation.
Maintenance Precautions
① Clean the mold and screw of the fish feed floating pellet making machine after each use: Remove the mold from the pot head and use a special brush (do not use a wire brush, as it will scratch the aperture) to brush away any residual calcium powder and raw materials. Rinse the screw with warm water, dry it, and apply a layer of cooking oil to prevent rust, especially at the screw connection points, to prevent raw materials from clumping and clogging.
② Check the lubricating oil weekly: Open the oil level indicator on the side of the fish feed maker machine and check if the lubricating oil level is between the upper and lower lines. If it is below the lower line, add special gear oil; do not use machine oil, as it will corrode the gears. Change the oil completely every 3 months, draining the old oil completely before adding new oil.
③ Protect against moisture in rainy weather: The humidity in the aquatic product workshop is high. When the machine is not in use, cover it with a plastic sheet and add a moisture-proof cover to the motor to prevent water from entering and short-circuiting the motor. Do not store raw materials in the hopper to prevent moisture absorption and clumping, which can cause blockages the next time it is used.
④ Regular mold calibration: Every month, disassemble the mold and measure the hole diameter with calipers. If the wear exceeds 0.2mm (for example, a 2mm mold becomes 2.2mm), replace it in time. Otherwise, the particle size will be inconsistent, and the seafood will be wasted.
