What Could Be Causing The Dog Food Maker Machine To Not Extrude Raw Materials Smoothly?

content

Three obvious signs that a dog food extruder screw needs replacing: First, the feed gets stuck. Raw materials pile up at the inlet instead of being sucked in as before, sometimes requiring manual pushing to move them. This indicates the screw blades are worn down and can no longer push the material. Second, the pellet temperature drops. Normal fish feed output temperature should be above 85℃. If it suddenly drops below 75℃, the starch paste won't cook properly, and the pellets will crumble easily. This is caused by wear between the screw and the machine cavity, resulting in insufficient frictional heat generation. Third, the screw blades are deformed. If stones or iron pieces are accidentally mixed in, the screw blades will be bent or curled. This can be seen when disassembling the machine cavity. In this case, replacement is necessary; it cannot be repaired.

A "comparative method" can be used to check. Use the screw height of a new screw as a reference. If the old screw blades are more than 1.5 mm shorter or have chipped edges, don't use it. Another tip: if there are uncompressed lumps of raw material in the pellets, this is also a sign that the screw is not pushing the material effectively. One fish farmer noticed that the feed was slow, so he replaced the screw of his small floating fish feed machine that same day. This not only solved the problem of feed piling up, but also restored the hourly pellet output to the previous level, ensuring that the fish fry could be fed without delay. It was very worry-free.
