What Is The Operating Procedure For A Pet Food Pellet Machine?

The first step is pre-operation preparation, which is fundamental to ensuring safety and quality. For equipment preparation, place the pet food processing machine on a flat, dry surface. For mini models, use a non-slip mat; for medium-sized models, secure them with expansion bolts to prevent vibration and displacement during operation. Check that the mold aperture matches the pet's needs (2-3mm for puppies, 4-5mm for adult dogs). Manually rotate the feed impeller to ensure there is no jamming before connecting to a 220V power supply. Raw material preparation must strictly follow the formula. Taking general dog food as an example, process 30% chicken breast, 25% cornmeal, and 15% carrots separately: freeze the meat and grind it to 80 mesh; blanch the vegetables and chop them. Mix all ingredients together, add an appropriate amount of water, controlling the moisture content to 15%-17% (it should clump together when squeezed but crumble easily when lightly touched), and stir for 5 minutes until uniform.

 

The second step is no-load testing, which cannot be omitted. Start the pet food making machine and run it idle for 3 minutes. Observe whether the motor rotation direction matches the instruction manual, whether there are any abnormal noises during operation, and whether the temperature control system is functioning properly. If a rotation error occurs, turn off the power and reverse the plug phase. If there is abnormal noise, check if the gap between the mold and the screw is too large; adjust it to 0.1-0.3mm with a wrench. Preheat the barrel during debugging. Set the temperature to 80-90℃ for dog food and 70-80℃ for cat food. Feed only after the temperature stabilizes.

 

The third step is the core processing flow, which requires precise control. Use a "small amount, multiple times" feeding method, pouring no more than 1/3 of the raw material into the feed inlet each time to avoid accumulation and blockage. Use a dedicated pusher to assist feeding; never touch the material directly with your hands to prevent accidents. Observe the state of the particles at the outlet: if the particles are firm and shiny, the parameters are appropriate; if they are loose and crumbling, increase the moisture content of the raw material or raise the temperature; if the hardness exceeds the standard, lower the temperature or slow down the feeding speed. Sample and check every 10 minutes during processing to ensure stable particle quality. Collect unformed raw materials separately, crush them, and reprocess them.

 

The fourth step is shutdown and cleaning, which directly affects the lifespan of the equipment. After processing, first turn off the heating system, keep the motor running for 5 minutes to drain any remaining material from the machine, then turn off the power. Once the equipment has cooled to room temperature, disassemble the barrel, mold, and screw. Use a food-grade cleaning brush to remove any residue, and use a fine needle to unclog each mold hole to prevent carbonization of the raw material. After cleaning, wipe the contact parts of the pet food pellet machine with diluted food-grade disinfectant, allow them to dry, reassemble, and store in a dry, well-ventilated place.
