What Safety Measures Should Be Followed When Keeping Equipment Used To Produce Chicken Feed?

The core of pre-storage maintenance for an Alfalfa pellet mill before long-term inactivity is "thorough cleaning, comprehensive rust prevention, and airtight protection." First, a thorough disassembly and cleaning process is essential. Disassemble components such as the die head, pressure rollers, screw, and barrel. Clean the surfaces with diesel fuel to remove feed residue and oil, and sand away any rust. After drying, apply a thick layer of rust-preventive oil or grease to the metal surfaces. The gearbox requires a complete replacement of the lubricating oil. After draining the old oil, clean the inside of the gearbox with diesel fuel, add new oil, and run it for 10 minutes to ensure all lubrication points are filled. For the electrical system, disconnect the power supply, disconnect the motor wiring, wrap the terminals with insulating tape, place desiccant and desiccant inside the control cabinet, and close and seal the cabinet door.

The placement and protection during storage are also crucial. The feed manufacturing machine should be placed in a dry, well-ventilated room free of corrosive gases. The machine body should be tightly covered with plastic film or a dust cover to prevent dust and moisture from entering. Vulnerable parts (such as spare dies and cutters) should be stored separately in a sealed box with desiccant added, and properly labeled and recorded. For hydraulic systems, the hydraulic oil pressure must be released and the hydraulic valves closed to prevent the seals from deforming due to prolonged pressure. The feed hopper and discharge port must be sealed with caps to prevent debris from entering.

When starting up after a seasonal change or after being idle, the "check first, then test" procedure must be followed; do not start the machine directly. First, remove the protective coverings, clean the dust cover from the equipment surface and the internal desiccant, and check the rust prevention of each component. If the rust-preventive oil is found to be deteriorated or rusty, it must be cleaned and reapplied. Then, focus on checking the mechanical parts, manually rotating the screw and pressure roller to ensure smooth and unobstructed operation; check the bolt connections, tightening any loose ones; and clear the die holes of the die head one by one with a needle to prevent clogging by residual rust-preventive oil or impurities.

Checking the electrical and lubrication systems is crucial for startup. Reconnect the motor wiring, check the insulation performance of the circuit, and measure the motor insulation resistance with a megohmmeter to ensure it meets the requirements. Take a sample of the gearbox lubricating oil for testing; if it is cloudy or contains excessive moisture, replace it with new oil. Add new grease to all lubrication points to ensure smooth operation of components. Finally, conduct a no-load test run. After starting the machine, let it idle for 3-5 minutes to check for any abnormal noises, vibrations, or temperatures. Then conduct a load test run, gradually increasing the feed rate and observing the pellet formation rate and the equipment's operating status. Only after confirming there are no problems should it be put into formal use.
