Small feed granulator machines don't require professional instruments for adjustment; you can judge the pressure by hand and eye. First, prepare a small amount of raw material (less than 5 kg), grind it into a fine powder, and adjust the moisture content. It should be able to be formed into a ball by hand but crumble easily when released. If it's too dry, spray some water; if it's too wet, microwave it on low for 1 minute.

To adjust the gap, you don't need a feeler gauge. Place a piece of A4 paper between the pressure roller and the ring die. Rotate the ring die. If the paper moves slightly without tearing, the gap is about right. If the paper tears, the gap is too small; loosen the pressure roller screw and adjust it slightly outwards. If the paper doesn't move, the gap is too large; adjust it inwards. Most household machines use a knob for pressure adjustment, marked "+" and "-". Turn "+" to increase pressure when the granules are loose, and turn "-" to decrease pressure when the granules are hard. Turn it 1/4 turn each time.

During trial operation, add a small amount of raw material with a small spoon and observe the pellet output: the pellet length can be adjusted with scissors; to shorten the pellets, move the cutter forward and tie it tightly with a rope; if the pellet output is intermittent, evenly distribute the raw material at the feed inlet to ensure a uniform feed rate. For home use, high output is not the priority; the key is to produce qualified pellets. After proper setup, process 10-20 kg at a time, clean promptly after use, and the small feed making machine will operate stably.
