What are the main types of automatic fish food making equipment?

content

Based on the number of screws, floating fish feed extruders are mainly divided into single-screw extruders and twin-screw floating fish food extruders. This is the most fundamental classification method. Single-screw fish feed pellet extruders have a simple structure and low cost. The screw is a three-section design (feeding section, compression section, and extrusion section), with a relatively small production capacity (5-30 kg/h). They are suitable for small-scale family aquaculture or small feed processing plants, mainly used for producing low-end sinking fish feed or small quantities of floating fish feed. Their advantages are simple operation and low maintenance costs; their disadvantages are unstable extrusion effect and significant fluctuations in pellet quality. Twin-screw fish feed extruders use two intermeshing screws, resulting in more uniform raw material mixing, a higher compression ratio, stable extrusion effect, and higher production capacity (30-100 kg/h and above). They are suitable for large-scale aquaculture bases and large feed mills, producing high-quality floating and semi-sinking fish feed, suitable for various fish species, including freshwater and saltwater fish. Their advantages are uniform pellet quality, strong water resistance, and stable buoyancy; their disadvantages are high cost and high maintenance technical requirements. Based on production capacity, fish feed extruders can be categorized into small dry dog food making machines, medium-sized, and large-sized fish feed extruders. Small machines have a capacity of 5-10 kg/h, are compact and easily movable, suitable for small-scale family farms (such as rice-fish farming or small fishponds), and can produce customized feed in small batches. Medium-sized machines have a capacity of 10-50 kg/h, suitable for medium-sized aquaculture bases (yield of 200-500 catties per mu), and can meet the feed needs of various fish species. Large machines have a capacity of over 50 kg/h, mostly with a twin-screw structure and equipped with an automated control system, suitable for large-scale industrial feed production, enabling continuous and standardized production and ensuring consistent feed quality.

Different types of fish feed extruders correspond to different application scenarios and should be selected based on the scale of aquaculture and the type of feed. For example, small-scale family farms raising grass carp and common carp can use small fish feed pellet making machines to produce 3-5mm sinking or floating feed; medium-sized tilapia farms can use medium-sized twin-screw extruders to produce floating tilapia feed, improving feeding efficiency and feed utilization; large-scale marine fish (such as grouper and golden pomfret) farms can use large twin-screw extruders to produce high-protein, high-water-resistance floating feed, suitable for marine aquaculture environments; and juvenile fish farming (such as fry rearing) can use small twin-screw extruders to produce 1-2mm fine-particle floating feed, ensuring that juvenile fish can feed and digest smoothly.
