The puffing machine is the key equipment for feed puffing production. At present, the most widely used in the feed industry is the single-screw extrusion puffing machine. The single-screw extrusion puffing machine is divided into wet and dry types. The dry type puffing machine only performs dry steam heating and pre-conditioning before the raw materials enter the puffing machine. The puffing machine itself does not have steam and water adding devices. The pressure and temperature in the extrusion chamber of this type of equipment should not be too high. It is mostly used for puffing of feed raw materials, such as puffing of full-fat soybeans.
The difference between wet extruder and dry extruder is that it can condition the feed with steam and water in the conditioner, and add steam to the steam adding holes of each section of the equipment in the extruding chamber. Some extruders are also equipped with water adding devices at the feed inlet, which can add a certain amount of water according to the different conditions of the extruded materials. At the same time, in order to control the temperature of each section of the extruding chamber, each section of the pipe sleeve is equipped with a water cooling jacket. The moisture content of the material after extrusion is relatively high, and it needs to be dried first and then cooled. The wet extruder can also be used as a dry extruder, but the spiral head needs to be replaced.
