A dog food extruder is a specialized machine for making food for cats and dogs. It can process fresh meat (chicken, beef), vegetables (carrots, pumpkin), and grains (rice, oats) into pellet-shaped staple food or stick-shaped treats. The pellets have a firmness that is just right for cats and dogs to chew, while retaining nutrients. It can process 200-1000 catties per hour. There are small models for home use as well as medium-sized models for workshops.

Animal feed extruders are similar to regular extruders, but operate at lower temperatures (80-120℃) to preserve the vitamins in fresh meat and vegetables. The raw materials are first processed: fresh meat is cut into small pieces or minced, vegetables are steamed and mashed, mixed with grain powder, and poured into a hopper. The machine screw pushes the mixture into the barrel, where it is heated and pressurized at a low temperature. After extrusion and cooling, the resulting pellets are suitable for cats and dogs, requiring no additional preservatives.

The main combination is "meat + vegetables + grains": chicken, beef, fish, duck (fresh meat or meat meal); carrots, pumpkin, broccoli, spinach (steamed and mashed); rice flour, oat flour, corn flour (easily digestible grains). Fish oil (for coat health) and egg yolk powder (for nutritional supplementation) can also be added.
