Generally speaking, raw materials with finer particle size and moderate moisture content are easier to expand, and a smaller aperture can be selected at this time. On the contrary, for raw materials with coarser particle size or higher moisture content, a larger aperture should be selected to avoid clogging.

Puffing effect: The size of the pore size directly affects the density, hardness and taste of the puffed particles. If you want a higher puffing rate and a crispy taste, you can reduce the pore size appropriately; if you want the particles to be fuller and tighter, you can increase the pore size appropriately.
Production goal: According to the market positioning of the product and consumer demand, manufacturers need to adjust the size and shape of the puffed particles. For example, for the pet feed market, a smaller pore size can produce particles that are easier for pets to chew and digest; while for certain specific food industries, a larger pore size may be required to produce puffed particles with a specific taste and appearance.
